If you find an accent table or coffee in a flea market, you can turn it by upgrading the tabletop with self-stick tiles. These decorative tiles usually come and are also referred to as peel-n-stick tiles. Peel-n-stick tiles are come in 12-by-12-inch squares and available in various patterns and colors. Due to the glue, you don’t need to use mastic or glue. A customized tabletop brings new life to a classic piece of furniture.

Wash the surface of the tabletop with detergent and warm water. Rinse the surface and wash clean. Permit the tabletop to dry.

Measure and find the middle of each side of the table. Draw a chalk line linking the mid-points of two sides of the table. Draw a chalk line linking the mid-points over the other two sides to find the middle of the table. Without peeling off the backing, center the first tile in the center of the table where the two chalk lines match. As an example, if the table is 3 feet by 2 feet, then lay the tiles in two rows of 3 out.

Arrange tiles round the middle tile before the entire tabletop is coated. This practice is called the tile. Make sure the edge of each tile presses against the tile that is adjoining. Do not allow any space between the tiles, since tiles don’t need grout. Trim tile around the border of the table with scissors.

Remove carefully and trace the opening with chalk. The square foot provides a beginning point for tile installation. Select up the tiles and lay them near you in the exact same order they were removed from the tabletop on the ground.

Unpeel the backing from the middle tile. Put the tile to the middle chalk square using the glue side down. Press to secure the tile to the table. Peel the backing off the next tile and set it next to the center tilebutting it up it. Press firmly. Repeat the process until all tiles are connected to the tabletop.

Roll over the tiled table using a rolling pin to even out the borders and eliminate unsightly ridges or lumps. Stand near the table as you smooth out the surface, and employ force to the pin. The tiles that are rolling ensures that the adhesives reduces visible lines between the tiles and adhere to the tabletop.
