Plenty of room and a serene fashion help this couple as well as their 5-year-old twins take the time to unwind. Place over the mythical MacDougal Street in Manhattan, their apartment has hot textures and natural materials and a soothing color palette. Designer Betty Wasserman and her staff joined beauty and practicality, upholstering fine furniture in fabrics that are durable and sticking with stunning but easy-to-clean surfaces for a surprisingly low-maintenance home.

While the living, dining and kitchen areas remain open to one another, Wasserman divided the major living area in a slightly more private living room with this custom end-grain screen divider by Heptagon Creations.

Wasserman made certain that everything was upholstered and finished with durable and watertight materials. Having two double boys around left this much more significant. Wasserman even had the walls covered in plaster rather than paint, as it is a lot easier to clean.

Custom made cabinetry constitutes a part of the couple’s cupboard. Separate cabinets, drawers and built-ins encourage ultimate organization and tidiness.

A striped runner divides the cupboard distance in the bedroom. Wasserman made use of the narrow area with an integrated desk.

The vibrant, happy and playful twins’ room has plenty of storage and space for artwork. Since both love helicopters and airplanes, Wasserman commissioned a custom mural for the walls with these pictures. An extra-cushy rug encourages playtime on the comfortable floor.
